Gayatri Chawla – Award Winning Poet, Author, Teacher, Translator, WE Anchor @Awards ’20

Gayatri Lakhiani Chawla, winner of the Rahi Kadam Inspiratiom Award 2021 is a poet, translator and French teacher from Mumbai. Her poems feature in international anthologies and journals like ‘The American Poetry Anthology’, ‘The Indian P.E.N.’, ‘Modern Poetry Translation’, ‘Better than Starbucks’ Anthology by University of Pennsylvania, ‘Setu’,‘The Bombay Review’, ‘Narrow Road’, ‘Madras Courier’, ‘RIC’, Modern English Poetry by Younger Indians’, Sahitya Akademi , The Kali Project, ‘Yearbook of Indian Poetry in English’, Red River Book of Haibun and ‘Open Your Eyes’. Her poem ‘Anagram’ won the 2013 Commendation Prize at ‘The All India Poetry Competition. Her debut book ‘Invisible Eye’ was long listed for Cochin Lit Fest Poetry Prize 2018, and won the Write Publish Publicize Contest at the Bengaluru Poetry Festival 2019.‘The Empress’ her second book, was Winner –II, US National Poetry Contest by Ræd Leaf Foundation, 2018. Gayatri won the Panorama Special Jury Award at the Panorama International Literary Awards 2020, and her poem finds a special mention by Architectural Journalism and Criticism 2020. Her poem was shortlisted by (APWT)Asia Pacific Writers and Translators in collaboration with Joao-Roque Literary Journal June 2020. Her poem won first prize at The New Normal Poetry competition by Poetry Paradigm, Oxford Bookstore and Exceller Books.
